Local wines from the Costières de Nimes vineyard are available in our campsite shop and in the bar.
In July and August, and at other times by appointment we arrange guided visits and tastings at the premises of neighbourhood wine producers.
Just 2kms from the campsite
Between Nimes and Montpellier, the sea and the mountains,
this vineyard of some 20 hectares has a magnificent view over the Petite Camargue. Bruno Francois and Pierre Villebrun both passionate oenologists took over the property in 2008. Employing a system of « culture raisonnée », which limits the use of non organic substances, they oversee personally the cultivation of the grapes and the process of the wine making.
Situated in the Rhone Valley the domain is classified AOC Cositières de Nimes and extends over 20 hectares of different grape varieties including Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Vermentino, Roussane, Marssane, Viognier and Tempranillo.
The climatic conditions and the nature of the soil are ideal for grape growing; round pebbles which retain warmth, the mistral wind, plenty of sunshine and the humidity arising from the lakes and marshes of the Camargue combine to help create wines of exceptional character.
