Le Camargue, birds’ paradise
The region is home to over 350 species of birds, sedentary or migratory. Many spend the winter here (ducks, mallards,teal etc.) It is internationally recognized as an important area on migration routes.

LE CENTRE DE DECOUVERTE DU SCAMANDRE :
This is an establishment created to inform the public.Open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.00a.m. to 12.30 et de 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. closed bank holidays
The trails are open in the morning from 9.00. Visitors must leave by 6.00p.m., when the site closes completely.
TAUREAUX DE CAMARGUE
the bull is undoubtedly the king of the Camargue. The great herds, known as Manades, are raised especially for the course camarguaise which lasts 15 minutes.
Camargue folk are very attached to the Fete Votive, which offers visitors an opportunity to take part in local traditions and share the fun of the festivities.
Throughout the summer you can watch abrivados, courses camarguaise, and bandidos, where the bulls are controlled by groups of skilled horsemen and women. This festival takes place in GALLICIAN, close to the CAMPING LE MAS DE MOURGUES every year at the end of July. and in neighbouring villages in other weeks, a sight not to be missed on your Camargue holiday.
LE PARC ORNITHOLOGIQUE DU PONT DE GAU : Les Saint Marie de la Mer
IN THE HEART OF THE PARC NATUREL RÉGIONAL DE CAMARGUE…
The Parc Ornithologique de Pont de Gau, close by Les SAINTES MARIES DE LA MER, and 25 kilomètres from the campsite LE MAS DE MOURGUES, invites visitors to the habitat of local wildlife in its natural environment of 60 hectares.
The trails pass over marshes, lakes, reed beds, lawns, streams …the diversity of habitat attracts numerous species of birds, both sedentary and migratory. Everything has been designed to facilitate the observation of several hundred flamingos, herons, swans, egrets, ducks, teal, birds of prey, passerine and other waders.
